Atolio is pleased to announce a new partnership with Capital Data, a technology solutions provider that has delivered infrastructure, cloud, security, and digital transformation work for more than 30 years.
As organizations manage expanding hybrid environments and fragmented data systems, fast and secure access to internal knowledge becomes the constraint on everything built on top of it. Through this partnership, Atolio and Capital Data are bringing Atolio’s sovereign context layer for enterprise AI together with Capital Data’s enterprise infrastructure expertise, so clients can reduce information silos and get value from data they already hold.
“Capital Data has spent three decades earning deep, trusted relationships with enterprise clients, and an outstanding reputation for helping organizations build flexible, future-ready technology foundations,” said David Lanstein, CEO and Co-Founder at Atolio. “Their holistic approach to IT architecture complements our mission to eliminate information friction. We are thrilled to partner with their team to help enterprises looking to transform how they access, discover, and leverage internal knowledge in a secure way.”
Capital Data Already Designed the Systems Atolio Indexes
Capital Data brings three decades of experience designing, architecting, and managing enterprise IT environments. Headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the company works with banks, manufacturers, hospitals, school districts, government agencies, retailers, and insurers across the midwest region. Its partner ecosystem spans more than 100 providers, and its commitment to understanding each client’s technical landscape makes it a trusted advisor for organizations modernizing their operations.
Atolio is the sovereign context layer for enterprise AI, turning fragmented enterprise information into trusted context for AI search, copilots, and agents, with each source system’s permissions enforced at query time. It installs into clients’ own AWS, Azure, or GCP environment, or their own OpenShift cluster. Indexed content and queries stay there, and nothing in the request path belongs to Atolio.
The index holds each document’s permissions alongside the document, and those permissions are checked on every query rather than approximated once at index time. Unauthorized content is excluded at the index level before it reaches a person or a model. Group memberships resolve through clients’ own identity provider, and a revoked permission stops returning results within the configured sync window.
“Our clients rely on us to analyze and architect solutions that ensure their data and systems deliver maximum business value,” said Todd LaMalfa, Chief Operating Officer of Capital Data. “Partnering with Atolio allows us to bring an incredibly intelligent, intuitive solution to our portfolio, one that directly addresses a major enterprise pain point by turning fragmented, multi-system data into actionable knowledge for everyday users.”
What Runs Where, and Who Can See What
- Unified data access: Query across hybrid infrastructure, cloud applications, and legacy document stores through a single interface.
- Permissions come from the source system: Access control lists replicate from each connected platform and run at query time.
- Everything runs in the client’s own environment: The deployment and all client data reside entirely within the client’s own AWS, Azure, or GCP environment, or on-premises Red Hat OpenShift, solely under their control. Atolio runs nothing in the request path. Encryption follows the client's own cloud provider practices, with bring-your-own-key support and no Atolio access to keys.
- Connectors ship with the product: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Atlassian, GitHub, and all other enterprise systems are available upon deployment, each preserving document-level permissions.
Getting Started
Capital Data clients modernizing infrastructure, consolidating cloud, or scoping an AI initiative can fold Atolio into that work. For organizations earlier in their planning, governed search across existing systems is the first step, and the permission model it establishes carries into every later copilot and agent. Contact your Capital Data account team, and Atolio’s solutions engineers will join those conversations directly.
